Most people picture the trading life as screens. Six monitors, coffee, someone glued to a chair from the open to the close. That was not my week, and that is really the point of this video.
My dad and I flew out to Montana on Saturday morning to spend a few days with a friend who flies the same airplane we do. We flew formation coming in, drove through Glacier National Park, stood in front of mountains that used to sit under a mile of ice, and looked out at the same view a Swiss-style chalet has been selling since 1914. The market was open for part of it, and I was not in front of it.
That works because the work happens first. I do my morning routine, I check that the market is doing what I expected it to do, I talk to the subscribers, and I set my stops. After that, the computer handles the rest. The stops are not a formality, they are the thing that lets you leave.
Not everything went to plan, and I left that in. We walked out Monday to a flat nose wheel, no tire tool, and a part coming in on an overnight FedEx. Watch the video for the full trip, the flying, the park, and the roadside repair job.
