A lot of investors are handed a list of 401k options and told to pick based on past performance, but that does not always give the full picture.
In this video, I break down how I look at 401k and retirement account selections through a trader’s lens. Instead of only relying on one-year, three-year, five-year, or ten-year return tables, I show how you can pull up mutual fund tickers on a chart and use monthly or weekly time frames to better understand trend, support, resistance, overextension, and potential rebalancing areas. I also walk through how tools like moving averages, Keltner Channels, and the Moxie Indicator can help identify when certain funds may be getting too frothy, when they may be setting up for a better entry, and how I used this approach in my own 401k to reduce exposure before the 2022 bear market and re-enter when conditions started to improve.
